CALCULATION OF TEA-SET HANDICAP
(HOW TO CALCULATE AND UP-DATE)
- Tea-Set handicap as website shows
- After each Tea-Set round individuals will be responsible for assessing and up-dating their handicap as appropriate. If anyone plays off a higher handicap than should be and its not discovered before prize giving they will be disqualified.
- With one or two minor changes, the up-dating procedure will be as per the current CONGU system (UHS).
- Players will always need to know which playing Category they are in i.e:
Category 1 = handicaps of 5 or less
Category 2 = handicaps of 6 to 12 inclusive
Category 3 = handicaps of 13 to 20 inclusive
Category 4 = handicaps of 21 to 28 inclusive
Category 5 = handicaps over 29
- The Tea-Set Buffer Zone will be 3 regardless of Category. The score will be measured against SSS – there will be no CSS. This means that 36 points will be equivalent to SSS and the Buffer Zone will be 33 – 35 points.
- If the score is between 30 – 32, the handicap will increase by 0.1 (regardless of your Category).
8. If the score is more than 36 points, the exact handicap will be reduced for each point over 36 according to your Category .i.e:
Category 1 (for each point over 36) reduce by 0.1
Category 2 (for each point over 36) reduce by 0.2
Category 3 (for each point over 36) reduce by 0.3
Category 4 (for each point over 36) reduce by 0.4
Category 5 (for each point over 36) reduce by 0.5
Examples: If the handicap is 11.2 and 30 points are scored, it will go
up to 11.3 (11.2 + 0.1)
If the next score is 38 points, the handicap will be reduced
to 10.9 (11.3 – 2 x 0.2)
( Note: If the initial adjustment takes the handicap into a new Category, then any
further adjustment will be at the new Category level – see above)
- For those who win a Tea-Set round (sole or joint winner and regardless of the score) steps 7 and 8 must still be applied, but then and in addition, the handicap must be reduced by 1 if 36 and above and by 0.5 if 35 and under.
- Any new member joining Teaset will not be able to win Teaset for their first three rounds but may have their handicap adjusted. They will however not have to pay the £1 entry fee.
