About Us

The ‘Tea Set’ is the name of our mid-week roll-up and we play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Tea Set is now running with pre booked tee times

Tea Set normal tee off time is 10.00 a.m. off the 1st tee (depending on tee reservations) via booking system and numbers generally range between 12 and 24. Play is in 3’s or 4’s depending on numbers. A round lasts approx. 3 hours 40 mins on average. Normally the day’s proceedings are over by between 2:30pm to 3pm.

The Tea Set was founded in 1991/92 and acquired its name due to the pots of tea drunk by players afterwards. A trophy is played for every 6 months which is awarded to the player with the highest average stableford score based on their best 20 rounds in that 6 months. The 6 months run to 31st March and 30th September each year. A ‘Fun Day’ is held soon after the end of each 6 months (organised by the previous winner) at which the winner and various statistics are announced.

A small sum of £1 is required for the ‘pot’ each day of which 80% is shared between the day’s winner and second and sometimes third depending on how many players playing) with the remaining 20% retained to be shared out between the top 10 at the end of the 6 month competition and a charity chosen by the six monthly winner. On the day 20p is also paid to each person with a birdie on a par 3 (and 50p for each eagle and £1 for a hole in 1 or an albatross).

Currently we are open for a few new members who would like to play on a fairly regular basis and playing off a reasonable handicap.
